CrossFit Reynoldsburg Instructors

Heather Horn

I attended Ohio State University where I studied Dietetics.  Nutrition and fitness have always been a part of my life.  I've been practicing CrossFit since 2008.

CrossFit has changed my life in so many ways: Increased strength, flexibility, endurance and self confidence.  I am stronger and have more endurance now than I did in my twenties.

I've got the best job in the world.  I get to go to work in sweat pants and tennis shoes (sometimes I don't ever wear shoes), I get to work with amazing, motivated people and I get paid to work out!  I love to set new goals for myself and my athletes and watch those goals get checked off one by one.

I am proud to be co-owner of CrossFit Reynoldsburg along with my husband Dan.  Our athletes are more than clients, they are Family!

I'm a full time firefighter/paramedic.  I love to play and watch ice hockey.  I've completed 2 marathons and one of my goals is to complete my first sprint triathlon. This goal was inspired by watching Jennifer Shaner do her first triathlon!

I've practiced CrossFit since 2008. I really enjoy training other athletes.  CrossFit has had such an amazing impact on my life.

Health, fitness and being active has always been a way of life for me.  Growing up I was actively involved in a sport or was a member of team league.  I attended Bluffton College & OSU with under grad studies in Health & Wellness with a minor in Nutrition.  I played Varsity Softball and Volleyball for Bluffton College as well.

As I became older, I continued a healthy lifestyle and added running & exercise into my daily activities.  I have completed three 1/2 Marathons, numerous 5k's and became a Triathlete in June 2010'.  I was always a member of a gym until I found the CrossFit Reynoldsburg.

I was introduced to CrossFit in July 2009' and I instantly became addicted.  CrossFit has not only changed my life, but also changed me as a person.  I'm now an all around healthier stronger person because of CF.  Each day is a new beginning and I'm looking forward to my future and the new adventures CF has in store for me.

Outside of CF, I'm an Office Manager & Sales Coordinator for a local packaging company.  I enjoy spending time with my dogs, boating, recreational golf, cooking healthy meals & gardening.

I started doing CrossFit in June 2009.  I thought I was relatively fit....until I tried my first workout.  It was a real eye opener.  Since that first WOD I have made many lifestyle changes and made fitness my priority.  I altered my eating habits, adopted a Zone diet and try to workout 3-5 days per week.  The gains I've made in strength and endurance over the past year are remarkable.  I used to struggle to run 200 meters, today I am running 5 & 10k’s.

I've taken what I've learned through CrossFit to my day job as a Master Plumber for Home Depot, by implementing a Health and Wellness Program for Home Depot employees.
CrossFit has become a part of my life.  I love working with new athletes: I've been where they are, I know how they feel and I'm excited to see them reach their goals.

I’ve been an athlete my entire life, I guess you can say that it’s in my DNA.  I started organized sports when I was 8 years old and didn’t stop, even after I graduated from The Ohio State University.  I’m CrossFit Level 1 certified, have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and currently work in Information Technology focused on business intelligence.   I was a shortstop for the OSU softball team where I earned All Big Ten honors as well as, won a Big Ten championship.

Being a Division One athlete taught me about strength, endurance and a love for pushing my mental resilience beyond my comfort zone.  After college, I played A-level organized sports for a number of years, ran a half marathon, and played sports I never thought I would – flag football and water sports.  I’ve been committed to staying healthy and working out since college but, just couldn’t achieve the same level of intensity and adrenaline rush, until CrossFit.   I’ve been an active CrossFitter for 2 years and naturally loved it from the very first WOD!  So when I was asked to be a trainer, it only made sense to say yes and combine two things that I love, working out and training.

This has been such a great experience for me both mentally and physically.  I never would have guessed that I could lose 30 pounds and still be able to achieve a 300 pound deadlift.  Most of all, what I really enjoy, is helping and inspiring others as they break through their own mental barriers and achieve something that they never thought possible.   What an amazing unexpected reward!
